Summer Stay Put Foundation #MakeupMonday

It’s Summer, it’s hot, and it will be both of those things here in the South for quite a while still. When putting on my makeup the other day, I thought I’d share my Summer Stay Put Foundation routine with you. {I’m considering sharing #MakeupMonday here on the Blog once a month or so}.  So today I’m sharing several, but one is a combo. I use It Cosmetics CC Cream on the daily as my go-to foundation. (I typically wear the shade Light, sometimes Medium in the summer). It’s just easy, has great coverage and has a nice neutral tone to it. I’ve been through countless tubes of this. Speaking of tubes, I also love that it’s easy to travel with! I typically apply it with a flat top kabuki brush but then sometimes with a Beauty Blender.

What I’ve been doing for a while now is mixing it with the CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous. I hope this is still available. Last I saw it was. Last year or so there were rumors of it being discontinued. Here’s an alternative if not. Now, this is a GREAT foundation on it’s own if you have oily to normal skin. Great coverage and staying power. I like mixing it with the CC Cream because 1. I get the tone I like and 2. I get a little bit more coverage. Again, both of these are great on their own. However, I haven’t found a foundation that I DON’T like mixing the CC Cream with. Seriously. It makes everything better! I’ve been talking about this for years over on my YouTube channel. Try it and let me know what you think.

This one from Too Faced is also great for the summer because it’s oil free and lasts all day (I’m shade Nude). Again, if I wear this in the winter, I’ll use a bit of the CC Cream so it’s not so drying. Another one I like mixing with the CC Cream is the YSL All Hours (I’m shade B30). It’s great on it’s own but mixing it just gives it a little something extra that I love. And of course there is the cult classic Estee Lauder Double Wear (I’m shade 2n1). I don’t love this on it’s own and it can be tricky to apply. I prefer it with a dampened beauty sponge.

With pretty much all foundations regardless of the time of year, I wear this setting powder by Laura Mercier. I’m just a believer in setting makeup. You don’t need a lot and it doesn’t look cakey. So between a long wearing foundation and the powder (be sure to press it in, not buff) I’ve found great coverage AND makeup that lasts in the heat and humidity. What’s your favorite long wearing foundation?

    Hi Crystal,

I live in Central Florida so I know what you’re talking about!
I love the IT cosmetics CC cream very much as well. I have the light shade but sometimes it looks a bit dark on me. I mix it with Garnier BB cream for oily skin and it’s a perfect blend.
The Garnier has a lighter texture so sometimes I wear that on its own at the weekend.

    Thanks for posting.

Hi there! Have you tried the Fair Light shade in the CC Cream? I keep meaning to try it because sometimes in the winter the Light shade can be a tad too dark for me as well. xo
