Today I’ve partnered with Nordstrom and I’m sharing my updated full face makeup routine including my long lasting full coverage foundation for my mature over 40 skin. I enjoy buying most of my makeup products from Nordstrom because they have a large variety of brands, plus I get points when I use my Nordstrom card to use later on fun stuff like handbags and shoes! Because I buy so much it also helps me to shop the Anniversary Sale during early access. Learn more about that in this post.
Foundation & Concealer
I like a full coverage foundation, always have. Probably because I have a lot to cover up like redness, uneven skin tone, old acne scars, etc. This combination with It Cosmetics CC Cream (shade fair light or light) and Shiseido foundation (shade 240) work great and have been my go-to for a long time. I like to mix foundations to get the right tone but also it gives a bit more coverage that way. A new product I’ve tried recently and love is this Dior Concealer (shade 1N). It’s full coverage, not thick and blends easily. If you’ve had issues with other concealers being too drying or not covering enough, give this a try. It’s great for mature under eyes!
I always set my foundation with powder. Always. It keeps my makeup in place during hot and humid weather, doesn’t get oily and makes blush and bronzer application smoother. My all-time favorite is this one from Laura Mercier. I also use her under eye brightening powder.
One important step I want to mention is under eye cream. For me, it’s a must to make my concealer look good. I’ve used this one by Bobbi Brown for many years and in my opinion it’s the best!
Blush & Bronzer
I recently tried this new palette from Benefit and I’m hooked! I’ve always loved their Hoola bronzer but I like the idea of it included in a travel sized palette with other colors. This palette exclusive blush is beautiful! I mix it with the Georgia blush for a little added highlight.
Eyes
Eye makeup totally brings a look together in my opinion. At least for me it does, especially on camera when I’m filming a YouTube video. I pretty much have a certain look I use no matter the actual eyeshadows or palette. I’ve just learned over the years what looks best on me and my eye shape. My typical look is a mid-toned brown in the crease followed by a darker shade in the outer corner and a light pink shade on the inner half of the lid. To see exactly how I got this look, you can watch my Updated Makeup Routine here.
Lips
For this look I used one of my favorite nude lip liners (iconic nude) and my go-to pink gloss (bare baby). I line my lips and slightly fill in on the outer corners. Then apply gloss all over. I finish my look with this setting spray from Charlotte Tilbury and my makeup lasts all day.
